We are delighted to welcome author and fellow bookseller Angus Macdonald to The Edinbrugh Bookshop with his latest book, The Secret of Ardnish - the 4th of his well reviewed series of novels set in the West highlands.
The Secret of Ardnish tells the story of Peter Angus Gillies who leaves his life in Canada to travel to Ardnish, the land of his ancestors, on the remote west coast of Scotland. Bewitched by tales of buried Jacobite treasure lost centuries before from a ship transporting French gold to help the Jacobite cause, Peter Angus sets out to find the gold with the help of a beautiful local girl, Sarah.
'If there was a story ready-made for the big screen, the Ardnish trilogy is it; an unforgettable case, heart-thumping adventure and romance, but above all a backdrop of spell-binding beauty'. National Trust of Scotland magazine about the series.
Angus MacDonald owns The Highland Bookshop, and just built the award winning Highland Cinema in Fort William. He is steeped in the history of the highlands.
