Anne Pia talks to Vineet Lal and Kari Dickson about their latest projects, the process of translating books into other languages, and what it's really like to work with someone elses words.
About the Authors:
Anne Pia is an award winning author, poet and language graduate with a Doctorate in Education. She is fluent in French and Italian, speaks Spanish, and writes in English, French and Scots. Anne's new poetry collection The Sweetness of Demons, responses to Baudelaire's Les Fleurs du Mal and comes from her profound love for France’s language and culture.
Vineet Lal became a marketing consultant, a conference interpreter and a literary translator of French novels after his studies at The University of Edinburgh, Princeton University and Heriot-Watt University. Vineet has recently translated bestselling French authors including Guillaume Musso's thriller, The Secret Life of Writer's, and Grégoire Delacourt's The Woman Who Didn't Grow Old. He is also a regular speaker at The French Institute.
Kari Dickson is a literary translator from Norwegian. Her work includes crime fiction, literary fiction, children’s books, theatre, and nonfiction. She is also an occasional tutor in Norwegian language, literature and translation at the University of Edinburgh, and has worked with BCLT and the Writers’ Centre Norwich.
