About The Event

FREE Event

Celebrate the end of the month in style at our monthly Speakeasy. With the long nights drawing in, why not warm yourself with a tipple and an evening browse. Gin and juice will be served from 5:30-7pm and our guest, spoken-word poet Yemurai Chaza, will perform some of her work.

Yemurai will be our last guest speaker at the Speakeasy for this year, but we will have a special festive event at the end of November.

More about Yemurai Chaza:

Yemurai is an Edinburgh based poet and creative with an appreciation for spoken word, music and science. Her writing is a colourful reflection of her Zimbabwean heritage and experiences growing up in Scotland. Her current work echoes the many seasons of life – discussing and exploring topics surrounding race, womanhood and love. Recently she was a featured poet and panellist at the Wigtown Book Festival discussing, Angelou on Burns - a rare 1996 documentary written and presented by Dr Maya Angelou about her love of Robert Burns’ work.
