About the book:

The year is 1999. Returning to practice after a suspension for stealing opioids, a young Scottish doctor takes the only job he can find: a post as a senior house officer in the struggling east London hospital of St Luke’s.

Amid the maelstrom of sick patients, over-worked staff and underfunded wards a darker secret soon declares itself: too many patients are dying.

About the author:

Simon is a Scot living in LA under the Hollywood sign, a screenwriter who has worked on Pixar's Luca and The Electrical Life of Louis Wain.  Working Title have bought the rights to his novel Set My Heart To Five and Edgar Wright is set to direct from Simon's screenplay. Not bad for a man who started his career as a doctor and kicked things off with a close to the bone spec screenplay about a depressed doctor!
