Join us in Book Week Scotland to celebrate the launch of Vivian French's fantastic new children's book, Bibi and the Box of Fairy Tales - illustrated by Amy Grimes. Come along to hear about the book, get your copy signed and ask Vivian questions. AND there will be a glass of something fizzy and a fairy cake to welcome you in!

About the book:

An enchanting collection of seven original fairy tales to bewitch and enthral by master storyteller, Vivian French, complemented by gorgeous, full-colour, contemporary artwork by debut children's illustrator, Amy Grimes. 

Bibi doesn't believe in fairies. But when she meets her fairy godmother, the tiniest of hopes flickers in her mind. Seven quests to seven lands that will open a magic box and grant her a wish.... could it, just possibly, be true?

Whisked away with her trusty companion, Sylvestro the cat, Bibi quests with giants, dragons, princes and princesses, wizards, witches, water sprites and sea elves, unicorns, trolls and gnomes... 

Can Bibi earn the keys to open the box.... and unlock her belief in fairy magic?

About the author and illustrator:

Vivian French has been writing for over thirty years, and has published over 300 books for children. She is passionate about illustration and is a co-founder of Picture Hooks – a project that mentors emerging illustrators. She has taught illustration at ECA for over 14 years and is now a visiting lecturer. Vivian has an MBE for services to literature, literacy, illustration and the arts. Before she was a writer, Vivian was an actor and a story teller; she still loves telling stories, especially fairy stories and folk tales.

Amy Grimes is a freelance illustrator based in Bristol, who graduated from Camberwell College of Art. Amy's bright and bold illustrations take inspiration from nature and the natural world.
